Newmedia-law.com is a blog about Media Law and Intellectual Property Law, focused on new legal developments in Belgian and European law. The blog is fed by Bart Van Besien, a lawyer at Finnian & Columba in Belgium.

Bart has worked as an attorney for two renowned international law firms in Belgium and as an in-house legal counsel for a leading internet technology company in Ireland. He obtained his master's degrees in Belgian law, European law and contemporary history in Leuven, Brussels and Barcelona and is currently a visiting researcher at the Berkeley Center for Law and Technology (University of California, Berkeley Law School). 

Bart is also an arbiter ('panelist' or 'third-party decider') in domain name disputes with the National Arbitration Forum (USA), the Belgian Centre for Arbitration and Mediation (Cepani), and the Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre (ADNDRC, Hong Kong, Beijing, Seoul, Kuala Lumpur).
